Project Manager- Bridge Design | H&H
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at H&H, located in Reston, VA. H&H is a nationally recognized, full-service infrastructure engineering firm, with over 139 years of experience and 600 professionals nationwide, dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that move communities forward. This Project Manager position is crucial for expanding the Bridge Design Team and supporting clients across the Commonwealth of Virginia. The role involves being a key member of a design team, ensuring the timely and on-budget delivery of quality projects, and maintaining regular correspondence with Client Project Managers to obtain necessary resources for successful execution.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Engagement: Market services to current and prospective clients and assist in creating expressions of interest and technical presentations for project pursuits.
• Design Oversight: Oversee engineering designs, which includes calculations, models, details, special provisions, and construction estimates.
• Project Execution: Execute the production of project requirements to ensure contractual obligations are met and coordinate multi-discipline engineering teams.
• Team Leadership: Perform functions such as reviewing reports and projecting workloads to guide the team’s efforts effectively.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct quality reviews of project deliverables to ensure client satisfaction and prevent errors and omissions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college is required, providing the foundational knowledge to manage complex bridge design projects.
• Experience: Candidates must be a Licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This role requires demonstrated experience load rating structures in accordance with VDOT IIM-S&B-86.4, along with comprehensive knowledge of VDOT plans preparation criteria, road and bridge specifications/standards, and the manual for the structure & bridge division.
• Skills: Essential skills include proficiency with CAD, modeling, and analysis software relevant to bridge design; strong verbal communication and technical writing abilities for client and team interactions; and a proven capacity to train and mentor entry-level staff within the team.
