The TL;DR
• Role: Psychiatrist
• Type: PRN, 8 hours weekly
• Location: In-person, Middleton, MA
• Mission: To provide diagnostic evaluation and treatment to patients, clinical direction, and ensure appropriate follow-up within a correctional health care environment.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Assessment: Provide onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for inmates referred by medical and clinical services staff.
• Treatment Oversight: Approve, sign, and monitor the implementation and efficiency of all patient treatment plans, ensuring comprehensive care.
• Discharge Planning: Create effective discharge plans to ensure appropriate follow-up and support for patients after their release from the facility.
• Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver medication management, individual therapy, and/or group therapy as appropriate for admitted inmates.
• Clinical Guidance: Offer clinical direction, general supervision, and in-service education to site staff, enhancing the overall quality of care.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be a graduate of medical school and have completed an appropriate psychiatric residency.
• Experience: Must be licensed to practice in the state of Massachusetts and possess a current DEA number.
• Skills: Expertise in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, clinical supervision, and patient discharge planning within a correctional health care setting.
