The Tone:
This Shift Lead role at Five Guys is for a hands-on leader who will set the daily operational standard within a restaurant setting. Five Guys is dedicated to delivering quality food and guest experiences, built on a foundation of teamwork and consistency. As a Shift Lead, you will be crucial in ensuring every shift runs smoothly and every guest leaves impressed.

The TL;DR
• Location: In-person
• Pay: $20.50-$22.00/hour +Tips +Bonus
• Team: Leads crew members, reports to management.
• Mission: Owns the successful operation of daily shifts and ensures exceptional guest service through effective team leadership.
• Tech Stack: POS systems

What You’ll Actually Do
• Shift Leadership: Lead daily operations and step in to run the restaurant when management is not on site.
• Operational Execution: Work across all restaurant positions, including cashier, grill, prep, fries, and dining room service.
• Guest Experience: Deliver fast, accurate service and consistently create a great experience for every guest.
• Team Development: Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best and help train new team members.
• Restaurant Standards: Maintain restaurant cleanliness, safety, and brand standards, and manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality setting, with leadership experience preferred.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead by doing rather than just directing, and to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Skills: Strong communication, basic math, and comfort using POS systems.
• Bonus: Food safety certification (such as ServSafe) is preferred.
