Shift Lead | Five Guys

The Tone:

The TL;DR
• Role: Restaurant Leadership Role
• Location: In-person
• Pay: $20.50-$22.00/hour + Tips + Bonus
• Mission: To effectively lead restaurant shifts, maintain operational excellence, ensure consistent delivery of high-quality guest service, and foster a strong, positive team environment while upholding Five Guys’ brand standards.
• Tech Stack: Point of Sale (POS) systems

What You’ll Actually Do
Operational Oversight: Lead daily shifts, managing restaurant operations and stepping in for management when they are off-site to ensure continuous smooth service.
Hands-on Contribution: Work side-by-side with the team across all positions, including cashier, grill, prep, fries, and dining room duties, demonstrating leadership through active participation.
Guest Satisfaction: Consistently deliver fast and accurate service to create an excellent guest experience with every interaction, ensuring customer impressions are positive.
Team Coaching & Training: Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform their best, while also assisting in the training and development of new team members to build a strong culture.
Brand & Safety Compliance: Maintain restaurant cleanliness, safety, and brand standards according to company guidelines, alongside efficiently managing shift tasks like coordinating breaks, handling cash, and completing closing reports.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments, ideally with prior experience in a leadership capacity.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in either restaurant, retail, or hospitality sectors is required. Demonstrated leadership experience within these fields is preferred.
• Skills: Essential skills include a team-first mindset, strong verbal communication, the ability to maintain composure and make effective decisions in a fast-paced setting, basic mathematical proficiency, and comfort using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include holding a valid food safety certification, such as ServSafe, to ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
