Shift Lead | Five Guys

The Tone:
This is an in-person Shift Lead role at Five Guys, located at one of our restaurant establishments. Five Guys operates as a renowned restaurant chain, dedicated to crafting quality food and delivering exceptional guest experiences. The Shift Lead is a pivotal hands-on leadership position, responsible for setting the operational standard for every shift. This role directly ensures guest satisfaction, maintains brand standards, and cultivates a positive, high-performing team environment.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $14.50/hour + Tips + Bonus

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Shift Operations: Oversee and manage restaurant operations during a shift, stepping in to run the site when management is not present.
• Perform All Station Tasks: Actively work in all restaurant positions, including cashier, grill, prep, fries, and dining room service.
• Ensure Guest Satisfaction: Deliver prompt and accurate service, consistently creating an impressive and positive experience for every guest.
• Coach Team Members: Provide support, motivation, and guidance to crew members, assisting in their training and development to optimize performance.
• Manage Shift Logistics: Handle administrative tasks such as coordinating breaks, managing cash, and preparing closing reports for the shift.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level leadership within the restaurant, retail, or hospitality domain.
• Experience: 1–2 years of experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality settings; leadership experience is preferred.
• Skills: Strong team-first mindset with effective communication abilities, capacity to remain composed and make sound decisions in busy environments, basic math proficiency, and comfort with POS systems.
• Bonus: Food safety certification, such as ServSafe, is preferred.
