The Tone:

The Operating Room Charge Nurse provides essential clinical leadership, managing the department and supporting the overall mission of offering high-quality surgical care in an ambulatory setting.

• Pay: $44.03–$61.00 hourly

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic & Policy Development: Formulate and implement the nursing philosophy and objectives consistent with the Center’s goals, actively assisting in the development, review, and revision of policies, procedures, and staffing to ensure alignment with current nursing practice trends and patient care standards, in collaboration with the Administrator, nursing, and professional staff.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure continuous compliance with governmental regulatory agencies such as HIPAA, the facility’s accrediting organizational standards like AAAHC, and confirm that all patient care documentation meets legal practice, state, and federal health standards.
• Clinical Operations Management: Develop an organizational structure that facilitates safe, effective, and efficient patient care through assigned responsibilities and delegated authority, including preparing weekly and monthly nursing schedules and initiating activities to control costs.
• Staff Leadership & Accountability: Provide leadership and support to foster effective relationships with center and medical staff, hold individual employees accountable for assigned responsibilities and performance expectations through annual evaluations, and oversee EDGETM requirements for direct reports.
• Safety & Quality Improvement: Reduce the risk of nosocomial infections by focusing on infection control and environmental safety, establish and evaluate quality control studies across all clinical areas in collaboration with the Clinical Administrator, and participate in emergency preparedness drills.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current licensure in the state of New Jersey, along with BLS and ACLS certification.
• Experience: A minimum of two years of clinical leadership experience specifically within an intra-operative setting.
• Skills: Demonstrated clinical competency, strong leadership and teaching capabilities, the ability to assess patient data and interpret needs, and maintain composure while directing staff in crisis situations.
