Senior Manager, Technical Documentation, Data Center Facilities | Oracle

This is a full-time leadership role at Oracle, supporting its global Cloud Infrastructure data center operations. • Mission: Owns the strategy, governance, and team capability to deliver critical, field-usable operational documentation that supports safe and consistent data center execution at hyperscale.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategize & Govern: Own the technical documentation strategy and governance model for Central Data Center Operations, including standards, lifecycle management, and approval workflows.
• Lead & Develop: Lead and develop a team of documentation managers, technical writers, and specialists supporting data center operations content across the portfolio.
• Standardize & Partner: Establish and maintain enterprise documentation standards by partnering with subject matter experts to convert complex technical requirements into clear, actionable procedures.
• Ensure Quality & Safety: Drive documentation quality through structured reviews and validation, ensuring critical procedures are written for safe execution in active data center environments.
• Optimize & Report: Develop taxonomy, templates, and reporting mechanisms to improve searchability, adoption, compliance visibility, and content health across sites and regions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager level. Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, Operations, Information Systems, English, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent technical operations experience will be considered. Core domain knowledge includes technical documentation, operations documentation, knowledge management, or critical facilities/infrastructure operations.
• Experience: 8+ years in technical documentation, operations documentation, or similarly complex technical environments, with 3+ years leading teams, programs, or cross-functional documentation initiatives. Experience building documentation systems for mission-critical environments, a strong understanding of data center operations, and demonstrated ability to translate complex field processes into clear, executable procedures.
• Skills: Senior-level documentation leadership with strong operational judgment, excellent technical writing, editing, information architecture, and content governance skills. Strong stakeholder management across various operational and engineering teams, strong program management discipline, and high attention to detail for procedure accuracy and consistency.
• Bonus: Experience in hyperscale data centers, cloud infrastructure, colocation, utilities, industrial operations, or other mission-critical settings. Experience managing controlled documentation for SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, change management, incident response, or safety procedures. Familiarity with CMMS, DCIM, BMS, EPMS, SCADA, ticketing systems, learning management systems, document management systems, knowledge bases, or content management platforms.
