This is a Staff Accountant position in Tampa, Florida, supporting a construction and contractor business. This role is crucial for maintaining daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records for payables, receivables, and payroll. The position directly impacts the business’s financial health by providing reliable data and supporting key month-end activities. What You’ll Actually Do
• Process: Review and process incoming vendor invoices, assign accurate general ledger coding, and initiate timely payments.
• Record: Accurately record customer payments received by check, wire, credit card, and other channels across accounting platforms.
• Reconcile: Reconcile payment activity between operating systems and the general ledger to ensure complete accounts receivable records.
• Coordinate: Act as a point of coordination between operations and accounting to align inventory, job-related transactions, and general ledger data.
• Administer: Assist with payroll administration by setting up new hires, reviewing time and pay details, and organizing information for processing.

The Must-Haves
• Background: At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar accounting support role with strong bookkeeping fundamentals.
• Experience: Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank or account reconciliations, and supporting payroll administration.
• Skills: Working knowledge of QuickBooks, confidence navigating accounting and operational software, and sound judgment with financial data.
• Skills: Ability to process financial transactions accurately, manage multiple priorities, and meet recurring deadlines.
• Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with accounting, branch staff, and operations teams.
