Before and After School Site Director – St. Joseph School (O’Fallon MO YMCA) | Gateway Region YMCA
The Tone:
This is an in-person role at the Gateway Region YMCA, based at St. Joseph School in O’Fallon, MO. The Gateway Region YMCA is a leading nonprofit charitable organization, serving over 260,000 individuals annually across 25 facilities and other branches. This role is crucial for fulfilling the Y’s mission to nurture the potential of every child, improve health and well-being, and support neighbors by putting Christian principles into practice through programs designed to build healthy spirits, minds, and bodies for all. As a Site Director, you will be instrumental in creating a safe, compliant, and supportive environment for children participating in before and after school programs.
The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Location: In-person, O’Fallon, MO
• Mission: To ensure the safe, compliant, and developmentally appropriate operation of before and after school programs, fostering children’s growth and positive relationships within the school community.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Oversight: Support the planning and coordination of before and after school program activities.
• Compliance Management: Ensure program implementation adheres to YMCA, State, and School guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Child Development: Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that advance children’s social, emotional, intellectual, and physical competency.
• Staff Leadership: Supervise and mentor group leaders and support staff within the program.
• Safety and Well-being: Maintain an environment that ensures the safety and well-being of children, staff, and families, with a zero-tolerance approach to abuse.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Managerial role focusing on child development, program management, and compliance within an educational or youth services setting.
• Experience: Direct experience in conducting programs in accordance with developmentally appropriate practices and supervising program staff.
• Skills: Program planning, activity coordination, compliance adherence, relationship management with diverse stakeholders, staff supervision, and youth protection.
