Accountant II | ONEOK

The Tone:
This is a hybrid position at ONEOK, located in Tulsa, OK, with in-office work Monday through Thursday and remote work on Fridays. ONEOK is a Fortune 500 company with over 100 years in business, serving as a leading midstream service provider focused on safety, sustainability, and employee well-being. This role is crucial for the Refined Products and Crude (RPC) Financial Reporting team, ensuring financial results are accurate and complete to support timely and accurate reporting for the organization.

• Team: Refined Products and Crude (RPC) Financial Reporting team, reporting to the RPC Financial Reporting Manager
• Mission: Ensure financial results are accurate and complete, supporting timely and accurate reporting during the monthly close process.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare accounting entries, intercompany eliminations, and complete account reconciliations to ensure accurate and complete financial results.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze financial results, research issues, and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with finance, accounting, and commercial teams during the monthly close process.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes and ensure all work is completed in compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Reporting Support: Assist with variance analysis, audit requests, various reporting needs, and special projects as assigned.
• Data Management: Compile, verify, and prepare financial information including forecasted versus actual expenses, governmental/regulatory reports, invoices, and quarterly income statements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Previous experience working in various accounting functions and performing an intermediate level of accounting activities such as financial accounting or gas accounting; knowledge of generally accepted accounting methods and procedures; experience researching, composing, reconciling, and preparing reports.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interact, advise, and communicate effectively with individuals and groups; ability to apply math, algebra, and statistical methods.
• Bonus: Good understanding of midstream accounting.
