The Tone:
This is a Data Scientist internship at Jobright.ai, located in Santa Clara, CA. Jobright.ai is building a personal AI job search agent designed to transform the job search experience from a solo, time-consuming effort into a fast, expert-guided journey. This agent aims to simplify every job search step and accelerate users’ routes to the best job outcomes. As a Data Scientist Intern, you will play a crucial role in analyzing user behavior, evaluating product performance, and developing data-driven insights and models in collaboration with product, engineering, and AI teams. You will have the opportunity to build real, production AI agents used by real users, exercise high ownership, and make a significant impact on how people experience AI-driven job search.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze Data: Analyze job seeker behavior, job data, and overall product performance to uncover trends and insights that inform product development.
• Design Experiments: Define key metrics and design controlled experiments to rigorously evaluate the impact and effectiveness of new features and product changes.
• Build Tools: Build analytical models, create informative dashboards, and develop automated reporting workflows to monitor key performance indicators and share insights broadly.
• Improve Product: Explore opportunities to improve core product functionalities such as recommendations, search relevance algorithms, and overall user engagement strategies.
• Communicate Findings: Clearly communicate data-driven findings, actionable insights, and strategic recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field (Entry-Level internship).
• Experience: Experience with Python and SQL.
• Skills: Understanding of statistics, experimentation, and data analysis; ability to translate ambiguous questions into structured analysis; strong communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience with machine learning, NLP, recommendation systems, or experimentation; familiarity with pandas, scikit-learn, notebooks, or data visualization tools; experience working with large or messy datasets; interest in responsible use of data and AI in career products; previous research, internship, or analytics project experience.
