Information Technology Intern AS NEEDED – 1st shift (Local College or University) | Huntsville Hospital
The Tone:
This is an Information Technology Intern position at Huntsville Hospital, located in Huntsville, AL. With 971 beds, specialized facilities including an Orthopedic & Spine Tower, a Level III Regional Neonatal ICU, and the largest Level 1 Trauma Center in the state, the hospital offers extensive opportunities for skill application. This intern role is vital for supporting the IT Department’s operations by independently executing project duties and providing significant contributions to ensure the smooth functioning of critical healthcare technology.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Execution: Carry out duties for specific project(s) assigned by the manager.
• Independent Task Performance: Perform required tasks independently.
• Departmental Contribution: Provide a significant contribution to the IT Department.
• User Communication: Effectively communicate with users regarding IT matters.
• Data Security: Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in a local university in a computer science or related field.
• Experience: Successfully trained in a student helper capacity, with working knowledge of assigned project(s) and a good understanding of IT department operations.
• Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Office, strong verbal and written communication abilities, ability to exercise good judgment, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bonus: Preferably a junior or senior level in their university program.
