Investment Banking Intern | Wall Street Oasis

The Tone:
This is a 10-week virtual internship at Wall Street Oasis, offered remotely as part of the WSO Global Talent Program. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship

• Team: Interns are introduced to and work directly with a Managing Director or Partner at one of our boutique investment bank partners after initial training.
• Mission: To acquire intensive financial training in core investment banking skills and apply those skills to real-world projects, providing critical support to ongoing deals and building a strong foundation for a career in finance.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training: Participate in two weeks of rigorous, in-house virtual training led by industry experts, building a strong foundation in core investment banking skills such as 3-Statement Financial Modeling, Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) Analysis, Trading Comparables (Comps), Precedent Transactions, and advanced Excel & PowerPoint techniques.
• Modeling: Following successful completion of the initial training and assessments, apply learned skills to develop comprehensive pitch books and perform detailed valuation analysis, including Comps and DCFs, for live investment banking projects.
• Project Support: Provide invaluable support on live projects for eight weeks, assisting with critical tasks such as Pitch Book Development, Valuation Analysis, Financial Modeling, and other essential contributions to ongoing deals.
• Deal Sourcing: Contribute significantly to sourcing and due diligence efforts, alongside conducting extensive industry and company research to support the strategic needs of investment banking partners.
• Mentorship: Engage in a structured learning environment provided by partner firms, participating in a minimum of one 30-minute weekly call dedicated to reviewing deliverables, providing feedback, and offering guidance from experienced professionals.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Ideal for highly motivated 1st year and 2nd year university students, though not exclusively limited to these years, who are eager to gain practical experience and a significant advantage in investment banking.
• Experience: No specific years of prior professional experience are required; candidates should demonstrate a proactive desire to get a head start in investment banking and build a compelling curriculum vitae with real-world exposure.
• Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, a proven ability to learn quickly and adapt, and a commitment to excelling in a demanding, results-oriented environment.
• Bonus: A “hungry” attitude, coupled with a readiness to commit fully to the program and thrive in a fast-paced investment banking setting, is highly valued.
