The Tone:
This is a full-time role for a Project Finance Analyst at Venteon’s client, a well-established middle market sized company located in the Metro Detroit area. The organization is actively seeking a Financial Analyst to enhance their team, specifically looking for an individual with a strong background in job cost experience. This position is central to the company’s financial operations, offering a critical link between operational performance and financial reporting. The Project Finance Analyst will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial insights that support decision-making and foster collaboration across various departments within the company.

• Mission: This role is responsible for leading critical financial processes, preparing comprehensive financial analyses, and providing essential operational reports, with a particular emphasis on job cost tracking and project-level financial consolidation.
• Tech Stack: Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables, Vlookup, SUMIF formulas), working knowledge of a large ERP system.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-End Close Leadership: Take a lead role in executing the comprehensive month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all financial data.
• Financial Statement Management: Conduct thorough monthly financial statement analysis and prepare detailed financial statements for review by management.
• Operations Reporting: Develop and deliver insightful operations reports that highlight key performance indicators and provide actionable information to stakeholders.
• Budget & Forecast Preparation: Prepare the annual budget from inception to completion and regularly update financial forecasts on a monthly basis or as needed to reflect changing business conditions.
• Project Financial Consolidation: Assume responsibility for the project-level consolidation of financial results, forecasts, and presentations, providing a clear view of project financial health.
• Job Cost Expertise: Apply and contribute significant job cost experience to all financial analysis and reporting activities, ensuring accurate cost tracking and allocation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a closely related field, demonstrating a solid academic foundation in financial principles and practices.
• Experience: A minimum of two years of progressive finance experience gained within a mid-sized or large corporate environment, coupled with demonstrated experience in job cost accounting or analysis.
• Skills: Exhibit expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced capabilities with Pivot Tables, Vlookup, and SUMIF formulas, essential for complex data manipulation and analysis. Additionally, have a working knowledge of a large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for data extraction and financial management.
