Associate/VP, Global Investment Banking, Leveraged Finance | RBC
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at RBC, located in New York, NY. RBC is a global financial institution committed to delivering trusted advice and helping clients and communities prosper. This role is crucial to the Leveraged Finance team, where you will structure and lead significant loan and high yield transactions. Your contributions will directly support senior bankers in critical financial activities, impacting client success and the firm’s growth in the capital markets.

• Team: Works within the Leveraged Finance team, collaborating with various internal banking and capital markets groups.
• Mission: This person structures and leads complex loan and high yield transactions for leveraged buyouts, acquisition financings, recapitalizations, restructurings, and refinancing.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transactions: Structure and lead loan and high yield transactions for leveraged buyouts, acquisitions, recapitalizations, restructurings, and refinancing.
• Materials: Lead the development of pitch materials for clients across diverse sectors, presenting strategic and financing views.
• Modeling: Build and verify financial models that include sensitized capital structure and operating assumption scenarios.
• Due Diligence: Provide support throughout the due diligence and underwriting process, including reviewing documentation and evaluating financial statements.
• Marketing: Prepare marketing and offering materials for leveraged loans or high yield bonds, encompassing rating agency and roadshow presentations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with emphasis in finance, accounting, or economics; strong academic credentials are required.
• Experience: At least one year of Leveraged Finance or related finance experience is necessary.
• Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, familiarity with credit agreements and other debt facility documentation, transaction structuring capabilities, financial statement evaluation, and proficiency with MS Office and market data applications. Series 79 & 63 licensed status is also required.
• Bonus: An MBA, MA, or MS degree is desired but not required, and prior lead left deal experience is preferred.
