Finance Intern – Fall Semester | Maverik, Inc.

The Tone:
This is an internship at Maverik, Inc., located in Salt Lake City, UT. Maverik is a retail organization that offers experiences and opportunities to its team members. This role contributes to core business operations by supporting key finance initiatives and ensuring accurate data for reporting and decision-making within a real-world business context.

• Pay: $15–$21 hourly
• Mission: This person will improve the quality of finance site attribute data to support accurate business reporting and operational decision-making.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Power BI or other data visualization tools (familiarity is a plus)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Analysis: Analyze and improve the quality of finance site attribute data to support accurate business reporting.
• Process Review: Review existing site attributes and identify opportunities to streamline and retire unused data.
• Data Governance: Partner with business stakeholders to define data ownership, governance standards, and maintenance procedures.
• User Enablement: Develop training materials and support users responsible for maintaining site attribute data.
• Project Presentation: Present project findings, recommendations, and outcomes to Finance leadership at the conclusion of the internship.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Full-time college student who has completed their sophomore year, currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and manage projects independently.
• Skills: Data analysis, reporting, process documentation, effective written and verbal communication, and experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Bonus: Preference will be given to applicants who reside in Utah, and familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools is a plus.
