Real Estate Strategy & Reporting Intern | Circle K
The Tone:
This is an internship at Circle K, a global convenience store and fuel retailer, located in Charlotte, NC. This role is designed to help the company make informed real estate investment decisions by leveraging data, analytics, and strategic insights on a global scale. The intern will contribute to meaningful, hands-on project work, turning complex datasets into actionable insights for the business. This position offers exposure to various cross-functional partners, emphasizing collaboration and real-world impact.

• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, SharePoint (preferred), Power BI (preferred), Alteryx (preferred), GIS systems (preferred), Google Earth (preferred)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Support projects by conducting research, developing data, and performing financial or pro forma modeling for real estate strategy and analytics.
• Build and maintain accurate store-level datasets, including location attributes and site characteristics, essential for analytics and reporting.
• Contribute to ad-hoc analyses by utilizing store performance, financial metrics, and market insights to inform strategic decision-making.
• Assist in documenting essential processes, methodologies, and best practices for real estate analytics and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and attend meetings to understand how analytics shapes broader business strategy.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Experience: Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort working with large datasets and learning new data analysis tools.
• Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data organization; Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint with the ability to communicate insights clearly; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Bonus: Major or coursework in business, analytics, geography, finance, real estate, economics; Experience working with SharePoint or other document management tools; Exposure to Power BI, Alteryx, GIS systems, or location-based analytics tools (e.g., Google Earth); Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn how analytics supports real estate and corporate strategy.
