Assistant Project Manager | EcoCosm, Inc.

The Tone:
This is an entry-level role at EcoCosm, Inc., located in the San Francisco Bay Area with required on-site field work. EcoCosm is an energy services company dedicated to reinventing how energy is used in buildings, engineering and implementing energy upgrades, and tracking savings. This Assistant Project Manager position supports all phases of energy engineering and upgrade projects, ensuring successful outcomes and lasting impact for clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
Site Assessment: Conduct site visits to assess existing building conditions and collaborate with engineers to design high-value energy-saving measures.
Subcontractor Coordination: Coordinate trade subcontractors, including lighting, mechanical/HVAC, and controls/BAS, from bid evaluation through on-site installation.
Project Management Support: Help manage project budgets, schedules, on-site execution, and client communications to ensure successful project outcomes.
Data Analysis & Testing: Own the trend-data workflow, run baseline regression models, and perform on-site functional testing of building systems.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, review sequences of operations, and coordinate utility incentive programs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or Engineering related field; early career project management.
• Experience: Ability to manage multiple projects independently; willingness and ability to travel regionally and nationally; clean DMV record.
• Skills: Excellent attention to detail; exceptional verbal and written communication skills; customer-focused and professional demeanor; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
• Bonus: Engineering background (mechanical, electrical, chemical, or related); familiarity with energy efficiency technologies and retro-commissioning (RCx); hands-on control system programming experience; knowledge of facilities maintenance practices; strong data entry and calculation skills for energy modeling; comfort working on ladders/lifts in various conditions; entry-level experience in energy engineering, commissioning, MEP, or building systems; experience conducting building energy audits; working familiarity with HVAC controls and building automation systems (BAS).
