INTERN COORDINATOR-BAS | Brevard Public Schools
The Tone:
This is a support personnel position at Brevard Public Schools, located in West Melbourne, FL. This role is crucial for providing leadership and support to ensure the successful operation and ongoing development of a childcare program within the school system.
The TL;DR
• Role: Intern Coordinator
• Type: Contract (10 Month)
• Location: In-person, West Melbourne, FL
• Pay: $15.93 hourly
• Team: Reports to a site coordinator
• Mission: To provide leadership for the supervision and development necessary for a successful childcare program.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Leadership: Lead and guide the daily operations of a site-based childcare program.
• Program Supervision: Oversee the activities and ensure quality standards are met within the childcare program.
• Program Development: Foster the growth and continuous improvement of childcare program initiatives.
• Quality Assurance: Work to ensure the overall success and high quality of the childcare program for participants.
• Reporting Structure: Operate under the direct supervision and guidance of the assigned site coordinator.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: One (1) year of successful experience in childcare or a similar program setting.
• Skills:
• Completion of Department of Children and Families Standards for Quality Afterschool Programs (SQAP-8 hours online and in-service) and Quality Self-Assessment and Improvement of Afterschool Programs (SQAI-4 hours online as in-service), or equivalent DCF-AMAP Course Achieving and Maintaining Quality Afterschool Programs (12 hours).
• Completion of School Age Certification/BAS Academy Levels I, II, and III (72 hours online) within 90 days of appointment.
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Valid State Driver’s license.
• Bonus:
• Associate’s degree from an accredited educational institution in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or a related field.
• CDA (Child Development Associate) Certification or Vocational Child Care Training degree.
