The TL;DR

• Team: Works alongside senior team members and collaborates with other departments.
• Mission: Support the design, development, and maintenance of company and client websites to enhance online presence and user engagement.
• Tech Stack: HTML, CSS, basic website builders (e.g., WordPress, Wix, Squarespace)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Design and Implementation: Support senior team members in the design, development, and implementation of website updates, new pages, and layout improvements for company and client sites.
• Content and Functionality Management: Assist with creating wireframes and mockups, updating website content, and rigorously testing site functionality to ensure visual consistency and user-friendliness.
• Optimization Initiatives: Help optimize websites for responsiveness, basic SEO, and accessibility, contributing to enhanced user experience and site performance.
• Documentation and Collaboration: Document all website changes and actively collaborate with other departments to ensure cohesive project delivery.
• Maintenance and Quality Assurance: Contribute to ongoing website maintenance activities, ensuring pages remain visually consistent and meet quality standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student. Foundational knowledge of web design principles, including layout, color, typography, and responsive design.
• Experience: Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic website builders or content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Wix, Squarespace) is preferred. An interest in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) best practices, including usability and accessibility considerations, is also beneficial.
• Skills: Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly, strong attention to detail and quality, effective communication skills, strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Bonus: Enrollment in or completion of a program in web design, graphic design, computer science, or a related field is a plus. A portfolio, class projects, or samples demonstrating website or digital design work is highly beneficial.
