Special Project Strategist Intern (TikTok Shop – Operations) – 2026 Summer (BS/ MS) | TikTok
The Tone:
This is an internship at TikTok, located in Los Angeles, CA. TikTok is a leading platform dedicated to inspiring creativity and bringing joy through short-form mobile video, boasting over 1 billion loyal users globally. This role is within the TikTok Shop US operations team, which aims to redefine the commerce industry by making TikTok the primary channel for discovery, inspiration, and shopping for merchants, creators, and affiliates. The Special Project Strategist Intern will be crucial in scaling the #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt phenomenon, helping to pioneer content and creator commerce in the US and deliver a brand new, unique customer experience that is innovative, secure, and intuitive.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Planning & Execution: Support business leaders in disassembling project tasks, setting priorities, and developing comprehensive strategies including goal/budget setting and performance reviews.
• Performance Optimization: Conduct data analysis to evaluate merchandise and seller growth, identify trends, and make recommendations for optimization.
• Operational Process Enhancement: Participate in the design and implementation of business operation management systems and processes.
• Cross-functional Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute strategy, establishing efficient communication and coordinating projects across departments.
• Risk & Compliance Assurance: Proactively identify and mitigate risks during rapid business development, ensuring regulatory and policy compliance.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience: Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026.
• Skills: Possess strong logical thinking, business analysis, systematic thinking, and critical thinking abilities. Demonstrate strong learning capacity, execution ability, resilience to stress, effective communication and coordination skills, resource integration ability, and project management proficiency.
• Bonus: An interest in the e-commerce business, including prior internship experience in e-commerce or a solid understanding of the industry landscape, is a plus. Familiarity with TikTok and other content platforms, particularly experience in content-based e-commerce (brand and/or platform-side), is highly preferred. Strong networking with brands and/or retailers and a passion for TikTok and eCommerce are also beneficial.
