Design Intern | The Monument
The Tone:
This is an unpaid internship at The Monument, located remotely. The Monument is a creative organization that specializes in visual content creation, including the development of dynamic presentations, graphic concepts, and elements for animation and 3D modeling. This role is crucial for an intern seeking to gain hands-on experience by directly contributing to client-facing materials and internal creative processes, supporting both the creative and production teams. The ideal candidate will bring fresh ideas and a foundational understanding of design to help enhance visual communication within the company.

• Mission: To support the creative and production teams by contributing to dynamic presentations, developing graphic concepts, and meticulously maintaining organized digital assets for both client-facing and internal projects.
• Tech Stack: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, 3DS Max, C4D, Maya, Houdini, Unreal Engine, Vray, Redshift, Corona.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Presentations & Decks: Contribute to the development of dynamic presentations and various decks, ensuring visual coherence and impact, and proactively maintain existing client presentation decks, preparing them for review and final delivery.
• Meetings: Attend daily stand-up meetings (“dailies”) as required to stay updated on project progress and contribute to team discussions.
• File Management: Systematically organize and maintain all working files within designated server folders, ensuring easy accessibility and version control for the team.
• Collaboration: Actively collaborate and share innovative ideas with both the creative and production teams, fostering a cooperative and productive work environment.
• Concept Development: Work closely with the director on the creation of concept art and conduct any necessary design research to support ongoing projects.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently pursuing school or university internship requirements, with a solid foundational understanding of graphic design principles. This includes the capability to create compelling layouts and develop innovative graphic concepts.
• Experience: Demonstrated working knowledge of industry-standard Adobe creative suite applications, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Skills: Possess an artistic and observant eye for detail; exhibit strong conceptual thinking and creative problem-solving abilities; capable of working effectively in a remote part-time capacity (10-20 hours a week); highly self-motivated and responsible.
• Bonus: Previous experience or working knowledge of After Effects or any 3D modeling software is a plus. A basic understanding of the animation process and pipeline is highly preferred. The ideal intern will also be energetic and passionate about design and animation.
