The Tone:
This is an internship at Fellowship of Christian Athletes, available across various locations. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is dedicated to developing student athletes, guiding them in discerning their calling and career paths, and providing exposure to diverse facets of ministry through FCA. This Intern role holds a vital position within the organization’s ministry, serving as a critical component of the overall FCA mission. Interns are expected to fulfill all functions and responsibilities with a heart committed to serving God as a form of worship, reflecting the core values of the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Uphold: The principles and guidelines outlined in FCA’s Christian Community Statement by actively agreeing with and consistently abiding by its tenets throughout the internship experience.
• Cultivate: A consistent and personal spiritual rhythm, incorporating daily prayer and in-depth Bible study, with the express purpose of seeking and understanding the Lord’s will specifically for FCA’s ministry and your involvement.
• Provide: Meaningful spiritual leadership and guidance to fellow staff members, dedicated volunteers, coaches, and student athletes. This leadership is demonstrated through consistent prayer, insightful Bible study, active participation in worship, and living as a positive, Christ-like example, equipping others to serve.
• Participate: Actively in a local church community, connecting through regular worship services and consistent weekly involvement, thereby maintaining personal spiritual fellowship and growth outside of FCA specific activities.
• Demonstrate: Exemplary conduct that consistently affirms biblical standards, ensuring all actions and behaviors are in strict accordance with FCA’s foundational Christian beliefs as detailed in the Christian Community Statement at all times.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current student athlete enrolled in a collegiate program, seeking a developmental experience within a ministry context.
• Experience: A demonstrated willingness to engage fully in a learning and developmental ministry experience, whether conducted during a summer period or over the course of an academic semester. No specific prior professional experience is required, as this is a foundational development role.
• Skills:
– Deep commitment to and agreement with FCA’s Christian Community Statement and all its associated Christian beliefs and values.
– Established personal discipline in maintaining a spiritual rhythm that includes daily prayer and consistent Bible study.
– Capacity and desire to offer spiritual leadership and guidance to a diverse group including staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes.
– Active participation in and commitment to a local church community through regular worship and weekly involvement.
– Consistent demonstration of conduct that upholds biblical standards and aligns with FCA’s Christian principles in all aspects of personal and ministry life.
