This is a paid, part-time internship at Banner Health, located in Tucson, Arizona. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Paid, Non-benefitted, Temporary, Part-time (15-20 hours/week for up to 200 hours total)
• Location: In-person, Tucson, Arizona
• Team: Works under the direct supervision of a department manager or designee.
• Mission: To expand experiences and knowledge of practices and procedures within assigned healthcare departments for high school seniors.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Expand Knowledge: Expand and develop knowledge through exposure to a variety of roles related to an area of study.
• Participate in Projects: Participate on work teams, contribute to projects and initiatives, and perform various tasks as needed by the assigned unit or department.
• Conduct Research: Perform research and prepare reports on assigned topics and/or projects when required.
• Provide Customer Service: Work as a member of a team, providing service to internal and external customers.
• Gain Departmental Insight: Obtain valuable insight and professional-level work experience in specific departments such as Culinary or the Emergency Department.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student, currently enrolled as a high school senior, looking to pursue a career in healthcare, located within Arizona, and plans to attend college in-state.
• Experience: Must possess general knowledge related to the department, unit, or area of study; typically up to one year in length.
• Skills: Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Bonus: Proficiency with commonly used software and personal computers may be necessary, depending upon assignment, and additional related education and/or experience is preferred.
