IT Procurement Intern | Promega Corporation

Working closely with our IT Procurement Specialist, you won’t just observe; you’ll handle real, impactful purchasing workflows, actively coordinate with vendors, and meticulously maintain accurate asset and license records. The TL;DR

• Team: Reports to/works closely alongside an IT Procurement Specialist, contributing to the overall IT department’s operational efficiency.
• Mission: To actively support Promega’s IT Procurement function by executing essential purchasing workflows, maintaining precise asset and license records, and coordinating vendor interactions, thereby enabling the team to focus on higher-level strategic initiatives.
• Tech Stack: Utilizes enterprise systems such as CDW, SAP, Freshservice for approval workflows, various contract management tools, and Microsoft Office, with particular emphasis on Excel for data management.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process: Process purchase orders and requisitions for IT hardware and software, ensuring timely and accurate procurement.
• Research: Gather and compare vendor quotes to support informed purchasing decisions.
• Maintain: Track hardware and software assets and maintain precise inventory records across various systems.
• Manage: Manage and update all software license records, ensuring compliance and availability.
• Coordinate: Reconcile invoices and coordinate with vendors to ensure smooth order fulfillment and delivery.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student pursuing a degree or holding a High School diploma with equivalent experience, demonstrating a strong interest in IT, Supply Chain, Business, or a related operational field.
• Experience: No specific years required; proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities, coupled with a strong attention to detail.
• Skills: Clear and effective communication skills, along with comfort and proficiency in working with spreadsheets and maintaining accurate records.
• Bonus: Enrollment in a degree program (IT, Supply Chain, Business, or similar), practical familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and a keen interest in procurement, vendor management, or asset management.
