HR Intern | International Spy Museum

The Tone:
This is an in-person internship at the International Spy Museum, located in Washington, DC. The museum is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public about espionage and intelligence. This role is crucial in supporting the Human Resources department’s mission to foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture, enabling employees to deliver exceptional visitor experiences.

• Mission: Supports the HR Team in fostering an organized, engaging workplace and efficient HR operations for the museum.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Administrative Support: Execute daily HR administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, document preparation, and logging HR-related inquiries.
• Recruitment Assistance: Aid in recruitment activities by posting job openings and helping review candidate applications within ADP Workforce.
• Onboarding & Engagement Support: Provide logistical and administrative assistance for new hire onboarding sessions and various employee engagement and culture initiatives.
• HR Foundations Project: Drive a key project focused on enhancing HR record organization, electronic file nomenclature updates, physical storage management, and the development of an inventory system, along with supporting onboarding experience improvements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current pursuit of a certificate or undergraduate degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and a high level of understanding in maintaining the privacy of employee data.
• Skills: Strong communication skills to interact professionally (verbally and written), keen attention to detail for accurate data management, and a collaborative team player mindset.
