Operations Analyst | Phaxis

This is an Entry-Level role at a global financial services firm, recruited through Phaxis, located in Baltimore, MD (hybrid schedule). The firm operates within global financial markets, offering a range of services to institutional and wealth management clients. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of daily trade operations, supporting various asset classes and contributing to sound risk management practices within a complex financial environment.

• Team: Multiple specialized operations teams including Derivatives & Margin Operations, OTC Trade Support, Product & Reference Data Operations, and Fixed Income Trade Operations.
• Mission: This person supports daily trade activity, resolves operational issues, and maintains data integrity to ensure efficient financial operations across global markets.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office
What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Support daily trade processing and operational workflows across various asset classes including derivatives, swaps, fixed income products, and securities data.
• Resolve: Monitor and resolve trade breaks, clearing exceptions, reconciliation discrepancies, and settlement issues in a deadline-driven environment.
• Maintain: Validate and maintain financial product and securities reference data to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
• Collaborate: Partner with internal teams including trading desks, operations, technology, and risk management to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Communicate: Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders, external clients, and exchanges regarding operational inquiries and trade support matters.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field. This is an Entry-Level role for recent college graduates.
• Experience: No prior professional experience required, but internship, campus leadership, or part-time experience within finance, banking, operations, or analytics is a plus.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bonus: Interest in financial markets, operations, trading, or investment banking preferred.
