Category Manager Intern (TikTok Shop – Operations) – 2026 Summer (MBA) | TikTok
The Tone:
This is a summer internship at TikTok, located in Los Angeles, CA. TikTok is a global platform for short-form mobile video, with a mission to inspire creativity and bring joy to its users. This role is crucial in scaling the #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt phenomenon and pioneering content and creator commerce in the US. The intern will contribute to building an innovative e-commerce ecosystem, making TikTok the leading commerce channel for merchants, creators, and shoppers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Acquire and incubate merchants to support category growth.
• Discover innovative collaborative models that align with merchants’ short-term and long-term development plans, and invest platform resources effectively and efficiently.
• Solve key challenges in business growth by strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Employ a consultative approach by offering strategic content, creator/affiliate/agency partner, merchandising, and logistical solutions to all clients.
• Update clients on TikTok Shop product developments and new promotional opportunities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an MBA Degree with the intent to return to the degree program after the completion of the internship.
• Experience: Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026. Internship or full-time experience in an e-commerce marketplace business or retail category management is a plus.
• Skills: Structured thinking, strong analytical skills, excellent communication, cross-team collaboration, and the ability to thrive in ambiguity.
• Bonus: Familiarity with TikTok content ecosystem, shoppable content, and brand-creator partnerships is a plus.
