The Tone:
This is a contract role at a global asset management company, located in Downtown Boston, MA. The firm seeks to fill multiple opportunities for individuals who will provide essential back office support for day-to-day mutual fund investment and trading activity. This role is critical for ensuring accurate and timely processing and reconciliation of financial transactions, directly impacting client portfolios and operational efficiency. The position offers a pathway to permanent employment for successful candidates.

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Research and resolve trade discrepancies by interacting with brokers and custodian banks.
• Instruction: Instruct trades and trade amendments, including preparing wire transfers to fund investment activity.
• Reconciliation: Process, settle, and reconcile daily trade activities, cash transactions, foreign exchanges, and asset positions.
• Reporting: Prepare daily and monthly client reports and analyze monthly portfolio asset reports for client accounts.
• Monitoring: Monitor cash flows, daily expenses, collateral holdings, and income receivables for client portfolios.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Finance.
• Experience: Internship(s) or up to 1 year of experience in the financial services and/or asset management industries.
• Skills: Knowledge of MS Office applications and spreadsheet proficiency; ability to research and report variances and incorrect holdings; strong focus on completing tasks within established strict timeframes.
