Account Coordinator – Public Affairs, Entertainment, and Education Team | DKC
The Tone:
This is an entry-level, hybrid role at DKC, located in New York, NY. DKC is an independent communications agency with over three decades at the forefront, building strategic communications solutions including media relations, digital and social media, integrated marketing, and public affairs for a diverse client roster from Fortune 100 companies to non-profits and creative individuals. This role is essential for delivering exceptional public relations results for clients in public affairs, documentary, history, civic education, and public policy, impacting their businesses through strategic connections and high-quality work.

• Mission: This person ensures timely and high-quality delivery of communication results for public affairs, documentary, history, civic education, and public policy clients.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage projects: Prioritize work, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and actively communicate progress and deliverables to account teams.
• Collaborate internally: Work effectively across all agency departments.
• Develop media relations: Utilize and further develop media relations skills and success.
• Execute campaigns: Be responsive and proactive on timely and priority campaigns and/or tasks.
• Drive results: Approach tasks with a ‘make it happen’ attitude, providing status updates and speaking to performance around key results.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree or defined education in marketing, PR, communications, journalism, or a related concentration.
• Experience: One year of public relations experience, preferably in an agency.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, outstanding organizational skills, strict attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Bonus: Strong relationship-building skills, energy and enthusiasm, responsiveness and proactivity, a ‘make it happen’ attitude, and a commitment to accountability.
