Human Resources Intern | Seattle Seahawks

The Tone:
This is an internship at Seattle Seahawks, located in Renton, WA and Seattle, WA. The Seattle Seahawks is a professional sports team committed to immersing an intern in the daily operations of human resources. This role is crucial for directly assisting with recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and employee processes, ensuring efficient and confidential operations under strict deadlines. It offers a chance to contribute significantly to the team’s administrative functions.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time, Seasonal (up to 30 hours per week through end of football season)
• Location: In-person, Renton, WA; Seattle, WA
• Pay: $22.75 hourly
• Team: Human Resources department, reporting to the Human Resources Manager
• Mission: Support the daily human resources operations to ensure smooth recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and employee processes.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe products, Canva

What You’ll Actually Do
• Onboarding Execution: Execute the comprehensive onboarding process for new hires, including processing backgrounds, paperwork, required trainings, I-9 verification, and accurate payroll functions.
• Recruitment Support: Support recruitment initiatives by assisting with interview scheduling, candidate screenings, coordinating orientations, and managing candidate communications.
• Content Creation: Draft branded Human Resources deliverables, publications, and emails in collaboration with the Design department to maintain consistent messaging.
• Data & Compliance Management: Assist with general employee data maintenance, conduct internal audits for compliance, process employment verifications, and manage file retention initiatives.
• Administrative & Operational Support: Provide daily administrative and office assistance, including supply orders, data entry, making timecards, processing Worker’s Compensation claims, and serving as a back-up office assistant/receptionist.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled as a senior or graduate student in a college or university, or a recent graduate (within 6 months) from a college or university.
• Experience: Prior experience handling highly confidential information, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, along with the ability to problem-solve in a timely manner.
• Bonus: Experience working with document and email publication design, including familiarity with Adobe products and Canva.
