This role is crucial for supporting media outreach and hands-on PR execution, helping Atom.com share its story and build brand presence. It’s designed for someone early in their PR career eager to develop strong foundational skills.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Media List Building: Research relevant journalists, editors, and outlets in business, tech, and startup media, then maintain and organize these media lists in a shared tracker, segmenting them by topic, beat, and campaign.
• Outreach Support: Send pitches and follow-ups using pre-written messaging and templates, track outreach activity and journalist responses, and help ensure consistent and timely follow-up cycles.
• Press Materials: Assist in updating press releases, pitch templates, and briefing documents, providing light writing support without creating strategy.
• Campaign Execution Support: Help coordinate media outreach around product launches and announcements, and support scheduling and logistics for PR campaigns.
• Tracking & Reporting: Maintain simple spreadsheets to track outreach and coverage, logging responses, opens, and placements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early in a PR career with some exposure to media outreach or communications work, interested in startups, tech, or branding.
• Experience: 0–2 years of experience in PR, communications, journalism, or marketing, including internship, agency, or in-house exposure to media outreach, pitching, or content creation.
• Skills: Strong writing and editing skills, comfortable working in Google Sheets / Docs, highly organized, and willing to learn, take feedback, and execute consistently.
• Bonus: Internship or assistant experience at a PR agency, exposure to tech/startup clients, familiarity with tools like Cision or MuckRack, a basic understanding of how journalists and press cycles work, or an interest in AI, startups, or the domain/branding space.
