Job Title: Legislative Intern

Responsibilities:

As a Legislative Intern, you will play a vital role in our mission, with responsibilities including:

  • Engaging directly with Members of Congress and their staff in meetings.
  • Assisting in the organization and execution of university and community outreach events.
  • Developing advocacy materials, such as drafting letters to the editor.
  • Conducting legislative research and preparing policy memos.
  • Providing field organizing support for endorsed congressional campaigns.

Qualifications:

We are seeking candidates who possess the following attributes:

  • Reliable: Dependable and committed to fulfilling responsibilities.
  • Detail-oriented: Meticulous in tasks and observant of specifics.
  • Organized: Capable of managing tasks, information, and schedules effectively.
  • Strong written communication skills: Able to articulate ideas clearly and concisely in written form.
  • An interest in Congress, foreign policy, or advocacy is beneficial, though no prior policy experience is mandatory.

Position Details:

  • Type: Remote, Volunteer Position
  • Hours: Flexible hours. Interns who can dedicate full-time hours will have enhanced opportunities to take on leadership roles within the team.
