A Tiger Cub is actively seeking dedicated creatives to join and help establish the Georgia chapter of Asians in Animation. This initiative is crucial for cultivating a vibrant, supportive local ecosystem, providing invaluable resources and connections for Asian talent across the animation, film, and broader entertainment industries in the region.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship / Early Career
• Location: In-person, Atlanta, GA
• Mission: To actively participate in and help build a thriving, collaborative creative community and a robust support ecosystem specifically for Asian talent within Georgia’s animation, film, and entertainment sectors.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Engage in Community Building: Actively participate in planned networking events and collaborative sessions designed to foster connections and mutual support among local creatives.
• Contribute to Creative Projects: Work alongside other members on various creative initiatives, utilizing your specific skills to bring shared visions to life and expand your portfolio.
• Seek and Provide Mentorship: Benefit from mentorship opportunities and offer support to peers, contributing to a culture of shared learning and professional development within the chapter.
• Leverage Industry Resources: Access valuable industry connections, gain insights into job and internship opportunities, and utilize platforms dedicated to showcasing your work to a wider audience.
• Shape the Chapter’s Future: Play an integral role in defining and expanding the Georgia chapter, helping to establish its presence and impact within Atlanta’s growing creative landscape.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Open to creatives at all career stages, from those beginning their professional journey to established practitioners, possessing a genuine and foundational interest in animation, film, and narrative storytelling within the entertainment industry.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience through a portfolio, projects, or professional work in at least one specialized creative discipline, including but not limited to animation production, storyboard conceptualization, video or audio editing, screenwriting or script development, professional voice acting, music composition or sound design, illustration, or multi-platform content creation.
• Skills: Proficiency in relevant creative software, artistic techniques, or production methodologies applicable to animation, visual arts, audio engineering, or written media. A strong collaborative spirit and an active desire to contribute to community projects and peer support are essential.
• Bonus: Prior experience in leadership roles, community organizing, event planning, or project management, particularly within creative or cultural groups, is highly valued for those eager to take on active organizational roles.
