Role Description: User Experience Intern

This is an exciting internship opportunity for a User Experience Intern at GenPark. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work remotely part of the time, while being primarily based in our New York, NY office, providing a dynamic learning environment.

As a UX Intern, you will gain hands-on experience across various stages of the user experience design lifecycle. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive user research to uncover insights into user needs, behaviors, and pain points.
  • Translating research findings into tangible design solutions by creating effective wireframes and prototypes for new features and improvements.
  • Analyzing user interactions and feedback to understand usability and inform design decisions.
  • Actively collaborating with our talented design and product teams to enhance overall user experiences across the GenPark platform.
  • Contributing to crucial design iterations, evolving existing designs to meet user and business goals.
  • Assisting with usability testing sessions, gathering valuable data and observations to refine our products.

Qualifications

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Proficiency in core UX methodologies including:
    • User Research techniques.
    • Usability Testing methodologies.
    • Data Analysis for user insights.
  • Demonstrated experience with design execution tools:
    • Wireframing and low-fidelity design.
    • Prototyping for interactive experiences.
    • Interaction Design principles.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • Strong foundational skills in:
    • Visual Design to create aesthetically pleasing interfaces.
    • Information Architecture to structure content logically and intuitively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program such as Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, Interaction Design, or a closely related field.
  • Understanding of AI-driven personalization and a keen interest in Gen Z consumer behavior is considered a significant plus.
