Job Summary
As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for reading, writing, and utilizing process Setup Sheets to mold quality parts to specific print specifications. A critical aspect of this role involves troubleshooting and correcting any plastic injection mold processing problems to ensure continuous, high-quality production.
Primary Responsibilities
- Meet all requirements of a Molding Technician.
- Read, write, and use process Setup Sheets effectively.
- Ensure the setup and parameters of Injection Molding Machines, Inco Heaters, DME Heaters, Barrels, Screws, etc., are all in working condition and set to proper specification to make quality parts.
- Detect any manual machine malfunctions or product defects, adjusting parameters as necessary to maintain quality.
- Complete first-off-last-off documents accurately.
- Ensure all auxiliary equipment is set to the correct settings per the baselines, and proficiently troubleshoot and correct any plastic injection mold processing problems.
- Maintain best operating parameters for the scheduled tool and make necessary adjustments. Follow proper deviation process if parameters are adjusted outside tolerance.
- Monitor tool cleanliness and ensure tool cleaning is conducted as required to prevent production issues.
- Ability to perform startup and shutdown of injection molding machines and diagnose any issues that arise during the process.
- Follow all work instructions meticulously.
- Maintain good and continuous communication with your Supervisor and Molding Technician peers.
- Be a positive and productive contributor to the team environment.
- Actively monitor molding injection presses to ensure machines stay running to full capacity during scheduled operation and are consistently producing good quality products.
- Identify opportunities for any process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
Requirements
- Must have a good attitude and be a team player.
- Must be able to work independently and follow directions precisely.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Must have good attendance and punctuality.
- Must be willing to work overtime as required by production schedules.
- Must have basic computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Access, and Email.
- Must be able to comprehend simple and moderately complex instructions.
- Adhere to all Safety Procedures and protocols diligently.
Physical Demands
- The ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, crouch, and climb to various heights.
- The ability to wear a safety harness and any other fall protection required for specific tasks.
- The ability to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly and safely.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Demonstrated experience working with hand tools.
- Demonstrated experience performing basic electrical wiring.
- Two years of injection molding processing experience.
- One year of Injection Molding setup of Mold bases and extremities.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage Level Increases:
- Move up 1 Wage Level = 3% increase or to minimum of Wage Level (whichever is greater).
- Move up 2+ Wage Levels = 5% increase or to minimum of Wage Level (whichever is greater).
- Wage Level Decreases:
- Move down a Wage Level = Loss of one half of your last promotional increase.
- Shift Differential: A shift differential of $1.50 applies to this position.
