The Tone:
This is a volunteer internship with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), designed for collegiate student-athletes. The program focuses on developing individuals by helping them discern their personal calling and career paths while immersing them in various facets of ministry through FCA’s work. Interns are considered collegiate volunteers engaged in a learning and developmental ministry experience, typically spanning a summer or a semester. While interns are not employees and do not receive hourly compensation for their work, a nominal stipend may be provided to help cover living expenses throughout the internship duration. This role is considered critical to the FCA mission, with all responsibilities expected to be performed with a surrendered heart to serving God as a form of worship, underscoring its vital role in the organization’s ministry.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Discern Calling: Actively engage in a learning and developmental ministry experience to discern individual calling and career path, specifically within the context of Christian ministry through FCA.
• Spiritual Discipline: Consistently follow a personal spiritual rhythm, including daily prayer and Bible study, to seek and understand the Lord’s will for the FCA organization and its ministry efforts.
• Spiritual Leadership: Provide spiritual leadership and guidance to fellow staff members, volunteers, coaches, and athletes through personal prayer, leading Bible studies, facilitating worship, and living as an example, thereby equipping others to serve.
• Community Involvement: Connect with and actively participate in a local church community, demonstrating consistent weekly involvement and engagement in worship.
• Ministry Immersion: Immerse oneself in various aspects of ministry through FCA, gaining practical understanding and experience in the organization’s operations and outreach.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Collegiate student-athlete, as interns are designed to develop this specific demographic in discerning their calling and career within ministry.
• Experience: This is a learning and developmental ministry experience; prior formal experience in ministry is not specified but a commitment to spiritual growth is implied through the ministerial duties.
• Skills:
• Adherence to and active agreement with FCA’s Christian Community Statement.
• Consistent practice of a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study.
• Ability to provide spiritual leadership and guidance to staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes.
• Active participation in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
• Conduct that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA’s Christian beliefs.
