The University of North Georgia (UNG), a multi-campus institution with over 20,000 students and a rich history as a senior military college, is seeking a dedicated Graduate Assistant for Athletic Administration with a focus on Student Services. This role is designed to provide comprehensive support to the daily operations of UNG Athletics, particularly in areas crucial to student-athlete welfare and development. Key Responsibilities

The Graduate Assistant will play an integral role in supporting student-athletes through various initiatives and administrative tasks, including:

  • Providing leadership and direct assistance with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and its key initiatives.
  • Coordinating and developing essential life skills, leadership, academic-related, and career development workshops tailored for student-athletes.
  • Assisting in delivering robust academic support and connecting student-athletes with vital resources available through both Campus and Athletics platforms.
  • Supporting and coordinating community service and outreach initiatives, fostering a sense of civic responsibility among student-athletes.
  • Assisting with critical NCAA Compliance and Conference reporting to ensure adherence to all regulations.
  • Providing support for event operations, including ticketing, game management, and various special events hosted by the athletic department.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director, Student Services, contributing to the overall success of the department.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Candidates should possess:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, essential for interacting with student-athletes, staff, and external partners.

Required Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must currently hold, or obtain by the start date, a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of six graduate credit hours by the start date of employment.
  • Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, candidates who possess the following will be given preference:

  • Experience as a former NCAA athlete or previous involvement in college athletics.
