Position Summary
We are looking for motivated, dynamic, personable, and professional Engineering Interns for our summer program to join our team!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The main objective for the intern is to become familiar with the assets in our energy portfolio, gaining experience in gathering, processing, treating, transmission, storing, and export of natural gas and/or liquids.
- Responsibilities will vary with location but may include:
- Process simulation and system modeling.
- Gas and fluid flow measurements.
- Pipe and vessel sizing calculations.
- Equipment functions and maintenance requirements.
- Day-to-day field operations of pipeline, storage, and terminal systems.
- Potential responsibilities may also include:
- Review of current federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations that impact natural gas gathering and transmission facilities.
- Assessment of facility’s compliance with authorizations.
- Interaction with operations, engineering, and other environmental staff.
- Field visits to facilities in the west Texas region.
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program majoring in engineering disciplines, specifically Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Must have completed a minimum of sophomore-level engineering courses.
- General requirements include self-motivated individuals.
- Involvement in activities outside college studies.
- Above average GPA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Must possess a strong willingness to learn.
- Willing to travel.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to adapt well to rapidly changing priorities and responsibilities.
- Ability to organize, perform, and prioritize various functions in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be a team player and able to work effectively with a diverse workforce and with various levels within the organization.
