• Team: Reports to the Head Coach within the men’s basketball program.
• Mission: To provide comprehensive operational, recruitment, and player development support to the head coach, ensuring the men’s basketball program attracts quality student-athletes and achieves its athletic and academic objectives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Recruiting: Strategically identify, evaluate, and recruit quality student-athletes to the men’s basketball program, ensuring compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations.
• Practice Management: Organize, plan, and effectively run daily practices and team workouts, contributing to the development of individual skills and overall team strategy.
• Academic Support: Proactively monitor student-athlete academic progress, provide necessary assistance, and help foster an environment conducive to their success in the classroom.
• Program Operations: Provide extensive support to the head coach in all operational aspects of the program, including planning and executing fundraising initiatives and promotional activities.
• Player Development & Mentorship: Act as a consistent positive role model for student-athletes both on and off the court, exhibiting and developing strong leadership capabilities within the team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into a Lakeland University graduate school program. This is an early career role designed for individuals seeking to combine advanced education with practical experience in collegiate athletics.
• Experience: Demonstrated prior experience playing and/or coaching basketball at a competitive level is essential for this role.
• Skills: Extensive knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations governing recruitment, eligibility, and program operations. Proven ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, effectively manage time, prioritize workflow, and make sound administrative decisions. Strong critical thinking, organizational ability, meticulous attention to detail, and accuracy in all tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting tactfully and effectively with diverse individuals. The capability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed, combined with an acceptable driving record for travel.
