Creative Design Intern | Heard Creative

The Tone:
This is an internship at Heard Creative, located in Rochester, NY. Heard Creative is a female-founded creative agency dedicated to crafting compelling advertising solutions for clients. This role provides a hands-on opportunity for students currently enrolled in graphic design or related programs to gain practical experience within the advertising industry. You will be a valued member of the creative team, working on real client projects in a supportive, feedback-driven environment that fosters growth and fresh perspectives.

• Team: Works alongside Designer/Art Directors, with interactions across departments and leadership.
• Mission: To gain practical experience in an advertising agency, contribute to client projects, and develop professional design and project management skills.
• Tech Stack: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Google Workspace (Gmail, Chat, Calendar, Slides), Microsoft Office (PowerPoint)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Contribute: Work directly on client projects, applying internal review feedback effectively.
• Shadow: Learn the full agency process and efficient professional workflows by spending time with team members from every department.
• Engage: Participate in meetings and interact directly with clients, team mentors, and agency leadership.
• Manage: Strengthen professional development through effective management of project timelines and requirements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current enrollment as a junior or senior in a Graphic Design program (or a closely related field) with a strong understanding of core design principles.
• Experience: An original creative design portfolio that showcases versatility, a keen eye for detail, and overall professional craft in visual communication.
• Skills: Strong technical proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Familiarity and practical experience with Google Workspace (Gmail, Chat, Calendar, Slides) and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint) are also essential. Furthermore, the role requires high emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative team attitude.
