Job Description

Position: Graduate Research Assistant (GRA)

The Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) will provide essential support to a pioneering research project focused on SPARK (Sharing Practical ABA Resources and Knowledge). SPARK is a vital initiative dedicated to developing and rigorously evaluating family-friendly behavioral intervention resources for individuals with autism. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to significant research activities related to caregiver training interventions, including the creation of critical training materials, engaging video modeling modules, and the evaluation of meaningful behavioral outcomes.

Commitment and Supervision

  • This position requires approximately 10 hours per week.
  • Continuation of the position beyond the initial appointment period is contingent upon the availability of grant funding.
  • The GRA will be directly supervised by Dr. Patrick Mallory, Assistant Professor of ABA and Program Director for the M.Ed in ABA program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development of various training materials, including comprehensive family guides, practical checklists, and informative infographics.
  • Support the creation of engaging video modeling modules and other instructional content.
  • Conduct thorough literature reviews related to autism intervention and applied behavior analysis.
  • Assist with accurate data collection, efficient data entry, and systematic data organization.
  • Support behavioral coding processes and contribute to data analysis.
  • Assist with participant recruitment efforts and overall research coordination.
  • Contribute to the preparation of professional conference presentations and research manuscripts.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a graduate student in Applied Behavior Analysis, Education, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in autism intervention and applied behavior analysis.
  • Possession of strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and consistently meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior coursework or practical experience in Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Experience with research methods or behavioral data collection.
  • Interest or experience in developing educational materials or multimedia content.
  • Familiarity with data analysis software or other research tools.
