Environmental Monitoring Technician | Eurofins PSS

The Tone:
This is a full-time, on-site role at Eurofins PSS, located in Rensselaer, NY. Eurofins PSS partners with leading international companies across the pharma, medical device, food, cosmetic & consumer products industries, providing mission-critical testing services. This role is essential for collecting environmental samples and providing routine laboratory support within controlled cleanroom environments, ensuring strict compliance with environmental and aseptic standards.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Second-shift (Sunday through Wednesday, 12:30 PM – 11:00 PM)
• Location: Rensselaer, NY (In-person)
• Pay: $19–$22 hourly
• Mission: To perform environmental monitoring and support lab operations to ensure compliance with strict environmental and aseptic standards.
• Tech Stack: LIMS, Autoclave

What You’ll Actually Do
• Monitor: Perform environmental monitoring within controlled cleanroom and process areas to ensure strict compliance with environmental and aseptic standards.
• Sample: Collect environmental samples from high-purity water systems, clean steam, and compressed gases as part of routine monitoring schedules.
• Support: Assist daily lab operations, including cleaning controlled temperature units and operating the autoclave, to maintain general laboratory upkeep.
• Maintain: Coordinate equipment-related activities, such as calibration and maintenance, to ensure operational readiness and regulatory compliance.
• Document: Utilize the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for efficient sample logging, tracking, and meticulous data documentation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related scientific field, or an Associate’s degree in Life Sciences combined with relevant industry experience.
• Experience: Proficiency in computer systems and the ability to quickly learn new techniques, effectively manage multiple tasks, and maintain accurate records.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, solid scientific aptitude, and excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Bonus: Prior experience within pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments, familiarity with microbial identification procedures, environmental monitoring experience, understanding of cGMP regulations, or experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
