Junior Giants VISTA Summer Associate | Giants Community Fund
The Tone:
This is a volunteer AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate position with the Giants Community Fund, offering service across California, Nevada, and Oregon. The Giants Community Fund builds free, noncompetitive baseball and softball programs for over 27,000 underserved youth, fostering character development, health, education, and bullying prevention. This role is crucial for directly implementing the 8-week Junior Giants program, ensuring thousands of young people gain valuable life skills and positive experiences through sports. Your contributions will directly impact communities by providing vital summer programming and support.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Implementation: Implement an 8-week summer program in collaboration with the league Commissioner.
• Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and onboard program volunteers.
• Operational Systems: Build organizational systems with the league Commissioner for communication, league management, supplies, and schedules.
• Participant Engagement: Recruit program participants and manage the online registration platform for the league.
• Community Reporting: Conduct a community assessment report during the pre-season and recap the service term with an end-of-season report.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A High school diploma/GED is required for this AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate role, focusing on community service and youth development initiatives.
• Experience: Demonstrated capability in community organization, youth development, education, non-profit management, and communications, as indicated by listed skills.
