This is an internship at Ovative Group, located in Minneapolis, MN. Ovative Group is an independent, full-funnel media, measurement, and creative firm. With deep industry expertise, the company helps major brands like Best Buy and American Eagle transform their media and measurement programs, driving profitable growth. This is achieved through their proprietary MarTech platform, EMRge, which uses the Enterprise Marketing Return (EMR) approach for holistic media buying, planning, and measurement. An Accounting internship offers a unique opportunity for a detail-oriented, analytically minded problem solver to take on a meaningful role at a fast-growing company, contributing to the creation of accurate financial statements, enabling smart financial decisions, and directly supporting the organization’s success.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Operations: Participate in the month-end close process and financial statement preparation.
• System Learning: Gain real-world experience with financial systems, including Workday.
• Transaction Management: Learn to create invoices, process bills, and manage expenses, understanding their impact on financial statements and reporting.
• Data Analysis: Support heavy data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of financial performance.
• Strategic Partnership: Partner with finance leaders to investigate financial trends and share key insights with internal stakeholders.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career candidate working toward a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: No prior professional experience required.
• Skills:
* Ability to think critically, break down problems, and propose solutions through a data-driven lens.
* Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to share ideas effectively in group projects, presentations, or stakeholder interactions.
* Consistently produce accurate, thorough, and organized work with strong attention to detail.
* Able to work well with others and manage interactions with peers, managers, and stakeholders in a respectful, professional manner.
* Familiarity with basic tools such as MS Office (especially Excel) and Google Workspace.
• Bonus: Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks or projects and complete them with limited supervision, alongside examples of leadership or initiative in academic, extracurricular, or work settings. An interest in accounting principles and comfort working with numbers and financial data is also valued.
