Landscape Architecture Design Intern | HDR

• Team: Integral part of project teams, contributing to various stages of urban, civic, and landscape architecture projects.
• Mission: This person supports project teams in developing designs and conducting research for urban, civic, and landscape architecture projects to enhance community well-being.
• Tech Stack: AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), LandFX, Revit (+Environment), GIS tools, Microsoft Office

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support project teams in drafting, modeling, and visualizing designs using specialized software.
• Assist in developing concept designs, plans, sections, diagrams, and renderings for various urban, civic, and landscape architecture projects.
• Conduct site analysis, research, and precedent studies to aid early-stage project development.
• Contribute to the preparation of presentations, reports, and graphics for internal reviews and client deliverables.
• Participate actively in team meetings, design charrettes, and coordination efforts with project partners.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, specifically a Landscape Architecture program (BLA, BSLA, MLA) or a related design field.
• Experience: No specific years required, but candidates must demonstrate strong graphic communication skills, including digital representation, and proficiency in design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, LandFX, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS tools. Basic Microsoft Office skills are also required.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the capacity to learn and contribute both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Bonus: Knowledge of plant materials, grading, site design fundamentals, and hand sketching skills.
