The Role: Landscape Architecture Design Intern

As a Landscape Architecture Design Intern, you will be an integral part of our project teams, contributing to various stages of urban, civic, and landscape architecture projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project teams with drafting, modeling, and visualization using tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, LandFX, Revit, or other relevant design software.
  • Assist in developing concept designs, plans, sections, diagrams, and renderings for urban, civic, and landscape architecture projects.
  • Conduct site analysis, research, and precedent studies to support early-stage project development.
  • Contribute to the preparation of presentations, reports, and graphics for internal reviews and client deliverables.
  • Participate in team meetings, design charrettes, and coordination efforts with project partners.
  • Provide general project support, such as organizing materials, refining drawings, and maintaining file standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Landscape Architecture program (BLA, BSLA, MLA) or a related design field.
  • Strong graphic communication skills, including hand sketching and digital representation.
  • Knowledge of plant materials, grading, and site design fundamentals is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in design software such as: Revit (+Environment), AutoCAD (+LandFX), Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), and GIS tools.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Benefits and Compensation

We provide a comprehensive benefits package that promotes employee ownership, employee health, performance, and success. The expected compensation range for this position is $22 – $26/hr and depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles are eligible for limited benefits.)
