Entertainment Event Technician Internship
Are you passionate about live events and performances? Do you have a knack for technical execution and a desire to gain hands-on experience in the entertainment industry? We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as an Entertainment Event Technician Intern. This position offers a unique opportunity to support the technical aspects of our live events and contribute to creating memorable experiences for our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Project Execution: Work closely with Entertainment Management on a season-long project, assigned during department onboarding, focusing on practical application and skill development.
- Technical Operations: Operate and meticulously maintain technical support equipment for specific productions, ensuring all operations align with the design and standards set by the production staff.
- Performance Delivery: Execute all shows precisely on time and as designed by Entertainment Management, maintaining consistent performance throughout the show’s run.
- Cue and Show Duties: Fulfill cue and show-specific job duties as directed by the Production Staff and Entertainment Management, adhering strictly to established directions.
- Rehearsal Involvement: Actively participate in the rehearsal and operation phases of your assigned productions under the guidance of the Production Staff.
- Navigational Skills: Confidently navigate in, on, or around scenic elements within potentially dark and restrictive spaces associated with specific productions.
- Physical Requirements: Be prepared to climb ladders and work at heights exceeding 35 feet, as well as lift more than 50 pounds regularly.
- Venue Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe atmosphere across all areas of the venue, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, trash removal, restroom cleaning, and organizing storage/shop areas.
- Equipment Safety: Operate and maintain all tools and equipment safely, consistently utilizing appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
- Guest Assistance & House Management: Assist in managing and maintaining the House before and after shows, helping guests with inquiries, and preparing the venue for subsequent performances.
- Policy Adherence: Strictly adhere to and enforce all park policies and procedures detailed in the Seasonal Handbook and the Department Standard Operating Procedure Manual.
- Uniform & Safety Gear: Wear and maintain the park-issued uniform. Team Members are required to provide their own black steel-toed shoes.
- Incident Reporting: Immediately report any unsafe acts or conditions to the unit Stage Manager.
- Training Support: Assist in training new personnel as required, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Age Requirement: Minimum age of 18 years.
- Availability: Shifts are flexible and dependent on production needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Technical Skills: Basic technical theatrical skills are required for all positions, with expert skills necessary for some specialized roles.
- Physical Stamina: Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for the entire duration of a shift.
- Work at Heights: Must be comfortable working with ladders, scaffolding, or lifts.
- Outdoor Conditions: Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Professional Attributes: Must be professional, self-motivated, capable of multi-tasking, and possess an enthusiastic attitude.
- Teamwork: Demonstrate strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Footwear: Team Member is required to provide black steel-toed shoes.
