The Internship Program
Medidata’s internship program offers an exceptional opportunity for aspiring professionals to accelerate their careers. Interns will gain valuable, hands-on, full-time work experience by collaborating closely with seasoned experts within our global organization. This immersive, 12-week program, commencing May 18, 2026, is designed to provide a deep understanding of what it means to be a Medidatian.
United by the goal of empowering smarter treatments and healthier people, Medidatians thrive in a culture of curiosity, innovation, and fun. Interns will contribute meaningfully to the business with sustainable projects. The program also features instructor-led training, guided mentorship, exposure to senior leadership, and community service.
A highlight of the program is the Intern Innovation Lab, where interns, assigned to cross-functional teams, will develop innovative solutions to current business challenges facing Medidata. These teams will present their final solutions to a panel of top Medidata leaders, confident that their work will make a significant impact on the business.
About the Team: Social Media Marketing
We are seeking a Social Media Summer Intern to join our dynamic Social Media Marketing team. This role is crucial for optimizing the visibility and performance of Medidata’s corporate social media channels. You will work closely with the team to refine the searchability and accessibility of our campaigns and activations, aiming to enhance performance and increase follower engagement.
The ideal candidate is passionate about social media strategy, enjoys building connections, actively engaging with online communities, and staying abreast of the latest trends to maintain relevance.
Responsibilities
- Support the management of Medidata’s corporate social media channels, with a primary focus on YouTube and Instagram.
- Drive community engagement and interaction by sourcing comment threads, facilitating reposts, and encouraging discussions across all social platforms.
- Develop engaging social graphics, Instagram Reels, Instagram Story templates, YouTube Shorts, and other dynamic visual assets for social posts.
- Conduct relevant industry competitor analysis, track awareness days, and research algorithm updates to ensure strategies and best practices remain current.
- Collaborate with various global content contributors, including internal and external stakeholders, to seamlessly integrate social media campaigns with editorial calendars.
- Assist with team logistics, including processing internal and external submissions, project management, and analytics reporting.
- Focus on activities that contribute to Global Marketing initiatives and help achieve overall business goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Exceptional organizational, project management, and relationship management skills.
- Strong attention to detail; excellent writing, proofreading, and editorial experience is a must.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, or Social Media Marketing.
- Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and possesses a hands-on approach.
- Exceptional creativity and a strong pulse on the latest social trends (especially relatable memes, satire, and raw, unpolished content) and best practices.
- Experience prompting Generative AI, especially Gemini, to accelerate productivity and improve workflows.
- Experience navigating and handling daily, weekly, and monthly community management, and promoting User-Generated Content (UGC).
- Experience handling Social Search Optimization (SSO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and/or SEO implementation and best practices.
- Experience creating content (filming and editing) for Instagram Reels, Instagram Stories, and YouTube Shorts is required.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and confident in the ability to work across various disciplines and stakeholder groups.
- Must be a rising or graduating senior.
- Social media/digital marketing experience is a plus.
- Previous experience working in communications/public relations is a plus.
Salary Information
The base hourly pay for this position, physically based in New York, is $25 an hour. Medidata sets salary ranges based on various factors, including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York may differ based on local market data in that region.
