Role Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist/Bookkeeper for a full-time, on-site temporary assignment located in Paterson, NJ. This crucial role is instrumental in maintaining the financial integrity of our operations, encompassing a broad range of accounting and payroll responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Handling comprehensive payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for employees.
- Maintaining precise and up-to-date bookkeeping records across all accounts.
- Preparing and analyzing various financial statements to support decision-making.
- Managing general accounting tasks, including the meticulous execution of daily journal entries.
- Performing regular account reconciliations to guarantee accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Managing all aspects of payroll tax filings, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Proficiently utilizing accounting software to ensure precise financial record-keeping and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborating closely with the finance team to provide essential support for financial reporting and external audits.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in Bookkeeping principles and executing accurate Journal Entries (Accounting).
- Proven experience with various Accounting Software packages and general Finance operations.
- Ability to competently prepare, interpret, and present Financial Statements.
- Exceptional attention to detail and superior organizational skills are a must.
- Solid knowledge of payroll processes and current tax regulations.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar payroll or bookkeeping role is considered a significant advantage.
