Financial Analyst | LHH

The Tone:
This is a contract Financial Analyst role at LHH, a leading global talent solutions company, for their client. Located in Newark, NJ, this position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring three days in the office and two days remote. The role is critical for providing robust financial insights by meticulously tracking operational and capital actuals against established budgeted plans. This individual will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial data structures within SAP and ensuring timely adjustments, directly impacting the integrity of financial reporting and analysis for key stakeholders.

• Mission: To support financial accuracy and provide critical analysis by managing SAP financial data, tracking expenditures, and investigating variances for operational and capital planning.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting & Analysis: Generate and rigorously analyze SAP financial reports to precisely track both Operating and Maintenance (O&M) and Capital actuals against established budgeted plans, providing clear insights into financial performance.
• Data Compilation: Extract and meticulously compile historical SAP Capital expenditure line-item data into comprehensive Excel spreadsheets, preparing it for in-depth review and trend analysis.
• Variance Investigation: Perform detailed line-item data extractions from SAP to thoroughly investigate and analyze actual variances observed on internal orders, identifying root causes and informing corrective actions.
• System Management: Maintain and proactively update SAP internal order groups to ensure accurate and consistent data structures, which is critical for precise O&M variance reporting and overall system integrity.
• Operational Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with Electric Operations stakeholders to facilitate accurate and timely monthly work order settlement corrections, ensuring financial records reflect operational realities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Demonstrated professional competency in financial analysis, with a specific focus on environments utilizing SAP for financial reporting and data management.
• Experience: Strong working knowledge and practical experience with SAP systems, alongside professional competency across the full suite of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Skills: Core skills include SAP proficiency for financial report generation, data extraction, and internal order maintenance; advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data compilation and analysis; and a strong aptitude for performing detailed variance analysis.
